Simultaneous voice and data doesn't work as anticipated. when im on a call I will hear the tone when a text comes in, but any emails that are sent only arrive after the call has terminated. I can however go to the home screen and surf the web (wireless only) during a call

My understanding is that 3G can support simultaneous voice and data. If on GPRS/EDGE, the Class of the device matters.
