Great aspect of Linux! Something that people often forget...
How deceiving it is to see that some people dispose of a top machine with
tons of Go in RAM and drive space just to ... type some text and sometimes
use a spreadsheet ...
as soon as the thing is freezing, the automatic reaction is : "this machine
and the system is too old, we should get a new one"
when you explain that you are using an old machine and that you are very
happy with it, they just stare at you with big eyes
with Linux you are not only saving money in software but also in a certain
way in hardware which is something not negligible for me.
Of course if you want to be "at the top", you will always buy the latest
geekthing independently of the system (Win,Lin or Mac)
but sincerely if you are not an hard gamer ...
