i know many people are still using POP3. Many people still use windows NT, or
windows XP.

My question is (or should have been) WHY ?

With online storage becoming more available (at zero cost) you could have
easily kept your 1 GB worth of mails in the cloud.

Tomorrow your hard disk crashes, or you need to access your mail from somewhere
and you don't have your laptop / phone, what do you do ?

Regards,
