You have a copy of all your mail on the server (keep copy on server option). That is what I like about pop! And not only the mail that you kept through your email client with IMAP, but all!!
Maybe we could say: IMAP is the model that served well in the time that storage space mattered?? But now...with no limitations... pop rules ;-)
