I'm going to have to disagree with this. To me, an appendix is a section,
just like the Introduction or anything else. Now, I know LaTeX does
something funny with \appendix (I think one uses \section commands after
\appendix to get the appendix titles), but I have never liked it. Of
course, I would like to see any robust appendix addition to LyX, but my
personal preference would be to see it be \section-like.
