The asString is being called when pasting a selected text. It grabs
the text to paste (at least when in math mode) by the asString
function. If the paranthesis are to be reversed, then instead of
pasting a_{1} it pastes a_}1{ and thus troubles occur. On 5/16/07, Dov Feldstern <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

Since I can't reproduce this, I find it hard to relate to whether the solution is okay or not. I don't see any ill-effects when applying Elazar's patch. OTOH, the function being patched (asString) seems to be used in many places (though there are many asString functions, so it's hard to tell), so I'm not sure what else would be affected; and I don't really understand what it has to do with the described problem (cut&paste in math) --- it doesn't seem like the kind of function which should be called in that context...? But if it seems to fix Elazar's problem, then I guess it must be related... ;) So I can't vouch for this patch, but OTOH I don't object to it, either...
