It's not a problem of a specific file!
Starting LyX 1.0.2, choosing new, typing a word like "LyX", ;-)
dvi-viewing shows this word. Now you can do want you want,
udating dvi or viewing postscript, all gives LyX, because
Latex is NOT running.
