Ditto. Writing "Troubleshooting Techniques of the Successful Technologist" in 2001, I got painted in a corner because at the time LyX didn't have character styles (hey, did I ever thank you developers for putting in character styles?). Anyway, hearing my desparation, a LyX-Users list guy named Dekl Tsur showed me a workaround, based on text color, to simulate character styles. This allowed me to finish my 300 page, 100,000 word book. When I wrote "Manager's Guide to Technical Troubleshooting", I again used Dekl's workaround. By 2006 when I wrote "Twenty Eight Tales of Troubleshooting", LyX had character styles (Hooray!). There have been many other instances where people on this list helped me write my books. Thanks to all of you. SteveT Steve Litt Books written in LyX: Troubleshooting Techniques of the Successful Technologist Twenty Eight Tales of Troubleshooting Troubleshooting: Just the Facts
