Yes, you have to set a column width :). Don't ask me why.

This is LaTeX. There is no other way because otherwise the width cannot be calculated at which the line break should occur. (As I understood it, \linebreak and \newline are calculated the same way by LaTeX. Without a fixed width \linebreak cannot be calculated.)

But the justified line break doesn't work for me in tables..

Does it for you ?

I tried

A B [Justified-line-break]

in a cell, but it doesn't justify.
