This is actually quite outdated now, but we did download Bwana as Esther also 
mentioned it in her post. I will get it installed shortly but the specific part 
of this particular man page which gives me the info I need is horribly 
difficult to understand.

Esther's suggestion of dumping it to preview would work better, since it would 
know how to handle the bold/overstrike/what have you, and would produce a much 
cleaner output, which you could then copy and paste into text edit if you 
really wanted a plain text version.
