The problem appears to have started when I cleared the cookie for Safari when upgrading to 10.4. I cleared all the logs/caches/cookies/reset/etc. I've tried accessing the download page on sourceforge with Safari, Firefox, IE, Netscape and even Camino. On all of them I get the 1x1 pixel which leads me to believe it is some form of http redirect problem. I've googled sporadically to find a solution and all I'm finding are others experiencing the same problems (Win/Mac both) with others commenting that they aren't having any problem with the site ;-) So it doesn't appear to be a browser problem but more of a network setting problem, perhaps?
I have a fresh install of 10.3.9 on a different iMac that I'll fire up this weekend to see if I experience the same problems going through the same modem (not a router) without installing any other software first. That should help to isolate the problem. Thanks for all the suggestions. Sov.
