Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. At FutureSlop I've
only been able to find _one_ inkjet (a $599 Canon... orders of
magnitude more expensive than the iMac 233 to which it will connect
;-) and one black and white laser ($130).

Apple includes printer drivers from many manufacturers, and also
includes the GIMP open source printer drivers -- this means that OS X
supports pretty much anything under the sun.

Alas, OS 9 support is going the way of the dodo.

The query is actually FutureShop specific since this printer is a
replacement for another printer that my father bought last year that
went belly up. He got a new fandangled Canon iP4200 as an equal-value
replacement, but, unfortunately it doesn't work with OS 9.

I'm wondering if they could be talked into ordering an old Canon
(perhaps one of the i### series... I love my i550... separate ink
tanks for each colour... has saved us a bundle on colour consumables)?

Hey. Hmm. Perhaps I could swap my i550 for my father's iP4200 :-)?

Eric.
