I am afraid I would have to agree with Apple here. Mac's have been 
coming out with DVD drives as standard for a long time now apart from 
some low end models. Tiger is a seriously beefy OS that needs decent 
hardware to run on. I would reckon the % of people that would need the 
cd version of Tiger would be very small.

At the end of the day Apple is a company that is trying to make money 
for its stockholders and employees.

As for the no cpu upgrade cards supported message on Apple's website... 
I have had Tiger running just fine on my cpu upgraded cube! Will need a 
new GPU card for the image core stuff ^_=

Does that mean you officially need a DVD drive to run Tiger?   My G3 
iBook isn't
yet 2 years old, and only has a CD drive.  It's no problem for me, as 
I have an
external DVD drive anyway, but it's going to be annoying for a lot of 
people!
