Maybe not then, I tend to steer clear of Logitech 'cause I don't like there stuff (their so called 'ergonomic' mice hurt my hands and I've had 2 webcams from them both of which have been poor), but the headset should behave as a generic USB audio device. Whether Logitech have got some trickery in there I don't know but I wouldn't put it past them. >So what happens if you just switch all sound to it in sound prefs? For music >or >whatever? Does it 'just work'? Syke uses the default OS X defined devices if it can't find the audio device you told it to use. I suppose I should be thankful it doesn't do what the Windows version does and forget the headset ever existed if the headset isn't plugged in on startup. >I did just have a thought though - I believe many USB peripherals can be put >to >sleep to save energy if they're idle - maybe that's the root cause of my >problem. I'll have to experiment with plugging the headset in when I want to >use >it and not leaving it there all the time... It might be that but I doubt it. If you think about it an Audio device that goes to sleep isn't all that practical, as it might do it when you are listening to something, or on the other hand how do you tell when it's mic is not being used? Silence is almost impossible to define in digital. I suspect the Shiny green L is the problem but as I said before I'm biased. Could also be a bug in OS X - it's not like that never happens... -- Mark Benson http://homepage.mac.com/markbenson -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
