Hi all macport team,
as a basic user, I'd suggest to add a line in the installation

to make clear to the end user if he can safely install the aqua

by side with a X11 version without corrupting pref files and
setups of the
X11 version (which is the case I think).
This could be line 21 in Johan's draw.
As it is my experience as a user that users do not read anything
apart
from the first 20 lines which are in sight in their reader, I would
suggest to order the document in such a way that:

My first impression when reading Michael's draft was. Nicely done
but it's too much wording. The end-user needs it short and to the
point.
And in addition most of the press out there also won't read any
longer than 20 lines.
Short and simple is much better to get the message across.

I would also recommend that this version would be in a package
installer version, just for the sake that you can stick this message
in the installer.
Hmm. I fear that even if we put it in an installer people will
overread it. But at least we tried.
People very rarely read readmes, even when they are in a package
installer. Users generally just click through to get the software
installed. Naming the file "Don't readme" might increase users
reading this file. Getting the right PR out is much more important
than anything else. The media is probably the most important people
to get the right information out to users. We have to make sure that
the media give out the right information, otherwise users are
unlikely to easily get the right information.
Kind regards,
