I am now more of a DOM mode user, but not because I prefer it, but rather because I tolerate it. Groups mode does not work well with the new onslaught of IM clients with dynamic html message viewers like adium, and since I use those sorts of programs a lot, it is not worth the trouble of changing back and forth between groups mode and DOM mode. If groups mode were made to work with dynamically changing HTML, I would switch and never look back. Truth is that this is rarely a problem on the internet, just with IM through adium or skype, and this is the problem for me.
