Ray,
Apparently you are blissfully unaware of the recent thread that has gone way off topic? Kawal alluded to this thread in an effort to bring things back on a positive note. Why did you respond to her and not take a stand against the off topic thread? (smiles)

Kawal,

What causes you to think we want to “slag Apple off”? Surely, you are
aware that most of us here use Macs and other Apple products with a
fairly high degree of personal and professional satisfaction. As for
the e-mail you mentioned, surely, you are aware that this was a spam
e-mail designed to scare you? You were right to be suspicious. Yes,
Apple’s accessibility department has undergone much revision of late and
this fact can be hard to see if one has not dealt with Apple over the
phone for a little while. I myself came from using windows and JAWS
back in November of 2009. I can say without reservation that it is my
firm intention to NEVER switch back to windows.

Hi.

Before any of you slag Apple off, just listen to my story then you can
slagg Apple to high heaven!

Today I found an e-mail which said that my Apple Storage plan was
under threat. So I got really worried because recently I had a lot of
e-mails which were all phishing e-mails and wanted to make sure this
was not another one.

So I called the normal number which I normally called and after
talking to an apple advisor, he put me through to Apple accessibility
who really helped with everything. I'll tell you, he was great. He
also said that the department was open 24 7 and he gave me the UK
Accessibility phone number which I paste below for those who live in
the UK.

The number is:

0800 048 0754.

Please give this number to your friends who use Apple.

I cannot praise the person on the other end highly enough as he solved
my problems in about 5 minutes. However we chatted for at least 20
minutes. He was so imporessed with my voice over skills as he said he
spoke to a lot of people who had lost their vision or who had come to
use voice over after switching from jaws.

So now who ever wants to, can slag Apple off to their heart's content!
 I won't this evening.

Kawal.
