Hi, Those apps are stock Apple apps and should be causing no grief in the manner you've explained. Upon further thought, System Information can cause odd menu behaviour, but it is more with the regular menu than the Extras menu.
Do you use Escape to back out of the Extras menu, or cmd-tab? Escape is the best method to use. Later...
