Incorrect. Parsing RFC-standard DSNs is trivial. I wrote the code to do it back in the old days when I ran the firewalls mailing list.
I think JC was talking about the broader subject, more than just the standard DSNs.
I agree with you that we could do a better job of parsing and handling the standard DSNs, but I agree with JC that this is a very tough task to do beyond the standard DSNs.
