Hi All.
PDF works excellently.
Currently, I need to output maps with raster fills and raster images in
A3 format.
The stupid but expensive and 128 Mb loaded HP 8500 color laser printer
chokes after 6 Mb of this layout and refuses to print.
Printing to PDF takes a few seconds and the HP 8500 can print the PDF
(sic!)
So I could not tell if it is 'true to the original' 'cause I haven't
seen it.
Another advantage is that I can set all kinds of safety locks on the
PDF, comment and annotate it plus that the PDF will serve as an
'original' as tables and workspaces change in the course of the project.
It also provides a means to distribute high quality maps without the
need for special viewers or access to base data.
