I got some preliminary files from http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/programs/lccp/ftpdownload.html

which is producing the The National Land Cover Data (NLCD) CDs. The FTP files are bin files. Can these be opened in Maptitude? (seems they cannot) The come as geo Tiffs on the CDs, but WA is not available, eastern states are available. This is an area I know nothing about - any pointers will be useful.
