I think they are 1/100,000 30 meter pixels of land cover. I am bumping around getting them to work in Maptitude, but Peter has advised that I need to fix some projection items. I'll keep everyone posted. They are very cool images. I am very green in this part of GIS so I will have to make a lot of dumb mistakes first. You part of the country is complete. W US is still under construction.Richard HoskinsGMT -8-----Original Message-----Maptitude - http://research.umbc.edu/~roswell/maptitude.html

Subject: [Maptitude] bin files
I got some preliminary files from http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/programs/lccp/ftpdownload.htmlwhich is producing the The National Land Cover Data (NLCD) CDs. The FTP files are bin files. Can these be opened in Maptitude? (seems they cannot) The come as geo Tiffs on the CDs, but WA is not available, eastern states are available. This is an area I know nothing about - any pointers will be useful.Richard HoskinsGMT -8
