Maptitude - http://research.umbc.edu/~roswell/maptitude.html
i've found a major limitation of importing tiger files.
i've got all the tiger files for the 48 states (about 3100). the file open
dialog has some limit as to the number of files i can specify. or more
likely it's a string length issue built into NT4.
if i only specify about 1/3 of the files i can get to the next box, which
allows adding more files, but only one by one.
if someone can verify that it is a string length issue in the "file-open"
dialog then i might be tempeted to rename all the files sequentially (with a
batch file??)
if whatever is limiting me is built into NT, but isn't a problem with either
win98 or winME i have other computers i could use temporarily. if it isn't a
problem in win2k i might be tempted to upgrade.
a fix (easy??) for the next version of maptitude (which would be handy in
general) would be to allow a text file which lists all the files to be
imported.
