CB: Yes, Americans are famous for "favoring the underdog" ,
supposedly. Americans certainly know about the "rich", and the other
colloquialisms mentioned.

At a more technical level, they don't think in terms of "classes" in
the class struggle sense, and as you say, they aren't up for such a
struggle much.
