I consider that anyone who is forced to operate underground and seeks to overthrow a repressive state or occupying power at the risk of their lives, jobs, prison, and exile is a revolutionary. Lenin and the Bolsheviks and the other parties which combined to make the February revolution well before it occured fit that description. I would describe non-socialists like the Islamist Yahya Sinwar as revolutionaries even though I don't share their politics.
Comfortable Western intellectuals who boast of their "revolutionary" credentials in an especially aggressive way in a society where they are able to express their opinions freely without fear of consequence impress me not at all. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
