I was getting the same sort of stalls when installing YDL on a mac

your CDs after burning, as per

Turns out two of the three CDs were bad, even though the burn had gone
without a hitch. Reburning until they checked out finally led to a
complete install.

I'd thought about that but hadn't done it until now. On my iBook 700, they checked out fine, so I tried installing YDL on the iMac again. No joy; in fact, the install didn't get past the first package. Hmm. I checked them again, this time with the iMac's CD-ROM. The first and last CDs failed. The same CDs failed on my wife's clamshell iBook. FWIW, I re-installed OS 9.1 on the iMac, then ripped 3 music CDs into iTunes with no problem.

Looks like I'll have to trek back into the office on another Saturday for another download/burn session. My dial-up at home would take days to do this, so I won't even try.

Thanks.
