Yes, it's called "Auto Login" and you can enable it
fairly easily. The hard part is to figure out which
account you both want to use, and copy any files
from the other account to that one. (You can drag
files to "Shared" which is one level up from your
home folders.)
Now that you have that done, go to the Apple menu
and choose System Preferences. Click the "Accounts"
icon (bottom row). Click on the account (yours or
your wife's) that you want to both use, and click
the "Set Auto Login..." button to the right. Type
the password for that account -- one last time! --
and click OK. Next time you reboot, your Mac will
automatically bypass the login window.
