I have only installed Mandrake once, and not a recent version, so proceed with caution. As a stab in the dark, can you pass an argument to the installer to ignore that device? Anaconda, the RH installer, has that ability in text mode. If Mandrake uses a version of Anaconda, you might be able to pass an argument like this: linux modulename=off Of course you would need to know the module name that is causing the hang, but I think you may know it as you have determined that it is the SCSI card module that is hanging the install process. Or there is the "noprobe" option which requires you to specifiy what drivers to install linux noprobe Charles Dostale System Admin - Silver Oaks Communications http://www.silveroaks.com/ 824 17th Street, Moline IL 61265 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MaX-list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> MaX-list info: <http://lowendmac.com/linux/max.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/max-list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
