The second is the lack of networking which relates to the first in a very mac-like way. One would use explore2fs for the job on a pc, would anyone know of a utility to browse exfs2-3 partitions under the classic macOS in the same way, worse comes to worse I'll install a min 9.1mdk just to transfer.
I would use a FAT32 partition as the bridge between Linux and MacOS if networking is not available. I know of no MacOS software to access ext2-3. Last time I checked, HFS access from Linux was read only, or writable if you want to corrupt your HFS files ;(
Thanks for the suggestion. While the mac could use the partition the mdk side had problems. In the end using the install kernel and initrd I was able to ctrl+alt+F2 to a bash prompt
chroot /mnt
cd /boot
ftp
open 192.168.1.x
send vmlinuz-2.6.8.1-12.2mdk
send initrd-2.6.8.1-12.2mdk.img
close
bye
I could then copy the files across to the mac. :)
Sound and networking are good, apart from a minor and noted keymap error.
Thanks again.
