Theoretically Mandrake should be easy to install - the PC version is a sinch - but alas this is not so!

If you have the means try a min 9.1 install and see if the installer has the same problem, if not try to update to 10.1 or use the software updater to update??? There are holes in that idea but its doable.

Apart from trying mdk9.1, forgive my lack of new world mac knowledge, can you find/load a driver from floppy. I dont know if mdk actually will load the driver off the floppy even though there is an option to do so. If it will you may find a working driver on a YDL or Debian ect distro or the standard linux driver (I haven't found a ppc flavored driver) may work ??? Others would have a better idea than I on that one.

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=7617 is for windows drivers but I thought the list of compatible cards may help, down the bottom, Bjorns comment doesn't sound good for the card as a whole.
Page 24 of this html of a pdf also has a interesting compatiblity list. http://www.google.com.au/search?q=cache:h4bOS9Z9fzkJ:www.verbatim.com.au/technotes/ars-2012p.pdf++AEC6712UW++linux+driver&hl=en#33

I should stop as I'm way over my head.
