No, I'm not suggesting that. Just something to get you up and running.

No, there is only one set of standard templates: the factory templates with
Maypole are the 80% solution. Everything else is allowed to be difficult. :)
This is why I think those are the ones which should be installed by Maypole
into a standard location by default. Sure, other add-ins can put their own
resources wherever they want, but let's not stop Maypole from anointing the
standard templates.
