HTML for email can often decrease legibility. It also tends to at
least triple the size of the messages. When a person uses HTML for
email he generally greatly complicates things to a substantial extent
while adding little or nothing. In addition people often send HTML
versions of email simply because this is what their mail clients
default to doing. as for your supposed links, most email clients do
at least a tolerable job of detecting URLs in messages, and can be set
to allow you to simply click on them simply because they are there.
