I get that message very time I Check News because there is one
newsgroup that has had nothing posted in the three weeks since I
subscribed to it. It seeme simple and obvious to me, but I can see how
it could be confusing since it doesn't indicate which NG it is
referring to, and existing groups can have well over 100 new posts.
I just know it's that particular one.
I have thought of killing the requester by posting to the group, so there
would then be a history of at least one post, but I'm more likely to
just de-subscribe if it doesn't wake up.
I looked at he group parameters and was surprised to see the article
counter set at 146924.
