How do you tell Meditech to recognize that barcode as the patient? I don't recall anywhere to define that.

This unique barcode identifier would be printed upon admission and should then be made available for re-printing only by certain individuals, say house supervisors. By creating this unique identifier and then restricting re-printing access by certain individuals, you will be able to eliminate the shortcuts users create in overriding the 5 R's. We would like to prevent users from scanning a barcode found on some paper documentation rather actually using the wristbands. We're preparing for BMV but are already scanning for point of care, with some users finding ways to get around scanning wristbands.
