I'm thinking a14 or a15 for my 1000. You can get a decent amount of power
out of these engines, I think Andrew Denniss had almost 150hp from his a15.
I recently rode in a 1000 coupe with a mild A15 with mikuni's, This coupe
would have left my old L20'd 1600 for dead (In a straight line :)
I wouldn't bother fitting an L series to a 1000. Their best feature is
the fact that they weigh around 660 kilos. But their handling is at best,
average. I reckon putting a heavy L series up front would make the already
dodgy handling even worse.

James Empson.

PS: $1 per litre petrol doesn't bother me, I'm getting 39 miles per gallon
:)
