A .63 on a Z18 gives great power from start to finish as far as overkill even with the larger T4's and Turbonetics T 66-1 etc there are ways around everthing.

As a matter of interest�I still have the original set of sandbent extractors off one of the Gibson Bluebirds.

Sounds good to me!� I think I would get it and stick it away until required. If you build those Gibson B/Bird style extractors, you could mount an external wastegate on them.

I want to upgrade the turbo (standard one) on my Z-18et.� I'm in no hurry except that I can get my hands on a T3 without the actuator, done 65 000 kays and has a .63 A/R on the turbine housing.� All for about 150 bucks.� Do I get it or wait till I really need one?� Is it too big?� One person from a speed shop said it would be overkill but some others said it would suit.� I'm open to suggestions /advice / opinions.
