Paul,

Sounds like a typical Borg Warner 200B depress box. Is your clutch in good
shape as a broken or soft spring or two in a pressure plate can cause this
problem as well. Most 5 speeds are easy to fit into a 200B, I don't know
which particular box is preferred but 200B Japanese 5 speeds are still found
at wreckers. A 240K/C210 skyline box should be a fairly straight forward
swap as well.

regards
Terry

Speaking of gearboxes that are 'dogs'... I have a 4 speed in my 77
200B...it's a real bastard to get into reverse...and occasionally 1st. Are
these the same as those stock 180B boxes? What is the most desirable box for
the 200B?
