Some problems can be encounted when an old narrow bladed rota button type dizzy
is used in a fixed situation and timing advance is controlled by a computer.The
rota button doesnt line up with the leads when large advances in timing is
happening and can cause misfiring.Later style dizzies have wider rota button to
stop this happening.George on the list modified his rota button by widening
it.Some people just do away with the dizzy cap alltogether and use the dizzy as
an input only and run 4 seperate coils with suitable modules.Some computers dont
like this as they require a tdc no.1 cylinder reference point.This is about
where the headache occurs but the problem can be overcome by using a chopper
plate in the dizzy or running a seperate input from the crankshaft via a hall
effect pick up for the reference point only.Probably best off speaking to the
people your buying the computer from to find out what suits there system best
and if they cant help then dont buy the computer off them.I've seen plenty of
people fleeced of a $1000 just to get a computer to run there motor.
