You can indeed, although the practice was always frowned upon by some ppl in
my day and probably still is - you need some special tools to do the
preloads properly, otherwise it will be noisy as all get up. We used to mix
and match ratios in R180's all the time, never had a problem with them,
except for the one that caught fire on us - too much beer consumed during
the job that night before we set off to do a rally in western Vic.

 You're chances of finding a blown R180 might not be all that good, unless
you live in Melbourne or somewhere near Cam, he's got a good collection of
broken bits from the SR/510. A R180 is only going to cost you $50 from a
U-Pull, auto Skyline C210 are usually good donors for a 3.9.
