mark, i had this problem too. what i ended doing is removing the 2 bolts holding the plate to the fire wall and matching them up with ones about 1.5" longer, and filling up the space with washers. this makes the plate sit further towards front of car giving me enough room for my twin SU's, also a lynx manifold. but for my old webers i went to the u-pull it and got a S2/S3 bluebird cable linkage. u will need the pedal to the end of the linkage. it works well but u have to sort out some sort of throttle return, i just bodged up a stretched spring.
