Ryan What did you change? Is it a 'regrind' or a 'billet'? It may be that the new cam needs a 'lash' adjustment. I'm not too clued up on all of this ( feel free to jump in any time guys) but when you put performance cams in often they have been ground 'away' to get the performance and the rocker doesn't sit at the right angle... or something. Lash pads come in an assortment of sizes. The tappets can be a pain in the ass to set but properly done they shouldn't go tappety-tap On a daily driver I'd expect to be adjusting every 12 months.
