I have heard of lash pads getting flicked out of L20B motors with extremely lumpy cams. I have just put a set of lash pads in mine, (an 'un-used spare' rally motor i bought) and noticed small nicks in the top of one valve spring retaining collar indicating a similar event. As long as that lashpad does'nt get stuck halfway out of the collar, (which mine probably did , probably bending a valve) you should 'nt do any other damage. I'm thinking of installing a rev limiter on my L20B, as it has a very light flywheel. My mechanic mate reckons his old L20B used to drop off in power after 6800rpm anyway so that could be a good safe rev limit.
Anyone know of any cheap rev limiter options?
