Yes Terry, I had a look at the 280ZX conversion as I have a set of these struts in a growing collection.
Apart from the spring perch and top replacement to fit the 1600 springs, you will need to lower the outer control arm under the lower ball joint to stop bump steer, as the struts are fairly short and the lower control arm goes above horizontal just under full shocker extension. Alternatively, raise the inner pivot point by relocating the welded bolt in the crossmember upward. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Terry Rudd" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, 18 November 2002 0:17 AM Subject: RE: Strut Details > Hi Trevor, > > Long time no hear from. > > 240Z/260Z struts are not suitable for a 1600 as the spindle angle is > cactus - i.e. positive camber to the tune of 5 degrees when fitted to a > 1600 - the exact specs are on the US Bluebirds website. 280ZX (C130 series) > with either coil overs or 510 retaining perch retro-fitted is the Zed way to > go on a 1600.
