I was talking to "My Engineer" a few weeks back.
It seems that NSW will be moving towards the Mod plate system that is common
in QLD, Vic, Tas, & wherever else in the not too distant future. But they
will also be revising the whole modification system so that it will be more
universal across the country. Presumably so that if a car is modded in NSW,
you can sell it to someone in canberra and they simply register it. No
further inspections or reports, etc.. The mod plate says it all and refers
to the original engineer's document.

As for which engineer. There's a list of them here:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi15.pdf

and here:

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi02.pdf

More info regarding engine capacities are here:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi06.pdf

That should give you plenty of info to go by!!! :)

Thanks Geordie & Bob,

I've got some good info to work with now to help us make some decisions,
anyone know a good engineer in Yass? (just kidding folks, Queanbeyan might
be a better bet)

Also thanks for explaining these different coloured slips in NSW (unreal
system)

regards
Terry

I would agree with all of that. I get a report a few years back off a
bloke named Col Potts, he was pretty good to deal with, and it set me
back $350. Nice thing was that he wasnt too thorough.
