Check what jets and emulsions the carbs have in them and let us know. The settings Mick suggested from the jetting program are a good safe bet to get you moving just don't use any high throttle settings.

Thanks Errol,

I'll try starting it once I get it back together, then take it easy to the dyno.

Wrong jets mean it could be running lean or how does it work, whats the worse thing that can happen if I'm driving it with the wrong jets in it? It sounds like its a case of if it starts its ok to drive?

cheers,

Richard

Richard,
If the carbs worked fine on an L18 they should do the same with an L20B and only require minimal changes. If you are still worried, mail me off list and I may be able to help you with a loan of some jets.
Cheers,
Feral Errol

They came off a fairly stock L18, so I guess they will be fairly wrong. Not sure if it starts Im still yet to get it back together. We'll soon see, still got the joys of fabricating the trottle linkages. Hope this is all worth it :)

Thanks,

Richard

Richard
I have to agree with Kris The dyno place should have all the jets u will need and if he's any good he should be able to have a good "stab in the dark' first too
Weber jets are hellish expensive and it seems that so many different combinations will work.
I have two sets of jets for my 45's. One for coast altitude and one set for over 1000m altitude.
Its hard to feel the difference running around (my) town on either set but u can really feel the difference on a racetrack and the fuel economy! The thing is when you look at the numbers on the jets they don't seem to run sequentially or have relevance.. ie  on one set I use #195 main jets and on the other set I used #145 main jets    BUT they work fine.
Does the engine run at all?
Did the carbs come off a similar engine?
Anyway   my calculator says that if u redline at 6000rpm
Choke 36 Main jet 145 Emulsion tubes F9/F16/F2 (lean to rich) Air correctors 180 Idle jets 50F9 Pump jets 40 Aux venturis 4.5
Hope this helps
Cheers
Mick

Hi Richard,
It would be alot cheaper to tow your car to the dyno than try to guess the jetting. Once there they will most likely change the jetting anyway so you will have just waisted your money.
Trailer hire is about $50 or so, jets are probably $30 each new???? x4 of.

Where are you getting it dynoed?

Kris.

Subject: Weber Jets Question

Hi all I was wondering if anyone had any idea which weber jets would match a L20b: Stock bottom end, ported head (u67) with a Crow Cam (30832) running twin 40mm webers

I just need to know fairly close so I can jet it before I drive it to the Dyno... surely someone has the same setup as me...

Also where to buy and how much to expect to pay :).... All this money I should have done a bloody SR20DET conversion.....

Cheers,

Richard
