The nameplates at GM ceased to have any deep differences, aside from suspension tuning and trim, more than 20 years ago, but people still swear by 'their' make. Case in point: When I worked for Budget, we had a huge fleet of Dodge Aspens and Plymouth Volares. Now these were the SAME car, in fact they came off the same line. We had some cars delivered with Dodge moldings (wider) and nameplates on one side, Plymouth on the other.... Yet we had customers who swore the Aspen was a delight to drive, but the Volare was a nightmare. Incredible.
