The valves get tighter when cold, so if that was the problem I wouldn't have expected it to start on Saturday. If your IP is sucking a bit of air but still pumping some fuel through the injectors, you can get white smoke when running, and I'd think it would be harder to start. Do you have a clear inline fuel filter under the hood? Does it have air or black crap in it?
