All you are doing is hooking the end of the cable over a little rod thing.
Do you have to put it in the hole, catch the rod by feel and then tug on it
to make sure it's in place before locking it in on top? I think this would
definitely be a job worth doing on my W126 to put it right. It's had shift
timing problems since I bought it.
