It's OK for the amount of use I give it. I bought the 220v model since my garage already had an outlet in place. Mine has four power levels (set by two toggle switches, one labeled Low/High and one labeled 1/2, so e.g. Low-1 is the lowest setting, while High-2 is the highest). It has a smoothly variable wire speed, but the wire feed drive is pretty flimsy looking; I doubt it would stand up to professional use for a long time which is probably why you never see these in a commercial shop. But for my occasional needs to glue two pieces of metal together, it's been satisfactory. I should also say I have nothing to compare it to; I've never owned or used any other welder.
