Times are a bit tough for car manufacturers and they are in business to
make money. Engine development costs money, big money. So they share
technology/costs to develop new engines, big deal.
As far as I am concerned, if it leads to a better engine than it's all
good. Or would you rather that Daimler does it all in house and end up
lagging further behind.
BMW are kicking their behinds when it comes to engines and Daimler has
to catch up.
I really don't care about where the engines are made or who makes them,
as long as they are the best they can possibly be.
